Record Lens Inc. (“Record Lens” or “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how we collect, use, protect, and disclose your Personal Information when you use our app, RecordLens, (“App”) or otherwise interact with us (herein referred to together as “Services”).

“Personal Information” means information that alone or in combination identifies, relates to,describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directlyor indirectly, with a particular consumer or household. Personal Information does not includeinformation that has been deidentified or aggregated in a way that it cannot be used to identifya specific individual.

WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

We may collect demographic information about you when you use the Services, such as your name, email address, postal address, telephone number, device identifier, IP address, occupation, zip code, current employer, work history, and other similar information.

We may also collect data, such as information regarding your interaction with our App, content of surveys, in App activities, other documents you provide to us as part of the Services, links you use or web pages you visit while visiting our App, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), cookies, and mobile device information including device identifier or other similar information.

HOW WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Directly from You
We collect your Personal Information directly from you when you use or interact with the Services, such as when you register to use the App, authenticate to the App, create a user profile, or undertake other actions as a part of using the Services.

From You Automatically
We may collect certain information about you automatically when you use our App, such as your IP address, mobile carrier, and other device identifiers that are automatically assigned to your computer or device when you access the Internet. From Third Parties
We may receive Personal Information about you from third parties, including from:

  • Record Lens Customers: We may receive Personal Information about you from organizations that use Record Lens, to invite you to use the App, and to join projects at their request.
  • ‍Service Providers: We may receive Personal Information about you from third parties that we use to help us provide you with the Services. 
  • ‍Analytics Providers: We may receive Personal Information related to your use of our App from third party analytics providers. For more information, see the “Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies” section below.
  • ‍Other Third Parties: We may receive Personal Information about you from other third parties, such as individuals who refer you to us or assist you in signing up for or receiving our Services. 

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use your Personal Information for business purposes, such as:

  • To provide and maintain the Services: including to create an account, verify your identity, troubleshoot problems, and provide, maintain, and improve the Services and your experience;
  • For operational purposes: including but not limited to: (1) carrying out our obligations and enforcing our rights arising from any contracts we have entered into, including, without limitation, any contracts between you and us; (2) conducting statistical or demographic analysis; (3) customizing your experience with our Services; (4) preventing fraud; (5) assessing the success of our communication efforts, and (6) other business purposes permitted under applicable law;
  • For law enforcement and other legal purposes: including but not limited to: (1) complying with legal and regulatory requirements; (2) satisfying contractual obligations; (3) cooperating with law enforcement or other governmental agencies for purposes of investigations, public safety, or matters of public importance when we reasonably believe we are required to do so or that disclosure of Personal Information is necessary or appropriate to protect the public interest; and (4) protecting and defending against legal actions or claims;
  • Other purposes: such as our internal business purposes and those you authorize or explicitly direct.

HOW WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may share any of the categories of Personal Information described above with service providers and other third parties for business purposes, at your direction, or as required or permitted by law, including with:

  • Service Providers: For example, we may share Personal Information with vendors to help us host and manage our Services, improve the content and functionality of our Services, perform data and statistical analysis, troubleshoot problems, ensure the security of our Services and operations, and to provide operational support. 
  • Parties to Business Transactions: In the event of an anticipated or actual merger or acquisition, bankruptcy, or other sale of all or a portion of our assets, we may transfer or allow third parties to use information owned or controlled by us, including Personal Information. We reserve the right, in connection with these types of transactions, to transfer, share, assign, or sell your Personal Information and other information we have collected to third parties or to authorize such third parties to use any such Personal Information, including for due diligence, as part of any of the transactions described in this paragraph. Any Personal Information you submit or that is collected after this type of transfer may be subject to a new privacy policy maintained by the successor entity.
  • Government, Regulators, Law Enforcement, and Other Parties for Legal Reasons: We may share your Personal Information with individuals or private parties where we reasonably believe such action is necessary to enforce and comply with the law, to protect our property or legal rights, for the safety of the public or any person, to prevent harm, and to protect the security and integrity of the Platform and any equipment used to make the Services available.
  • Professional Advisors: We may share Personal Information with our professional advisors, such as our attorneys, accountants, financial advisors, and business advisors, in their capacity as advisors to Record Lens.
  • Other Third Parties at Your Direction: We may also share your Personal Information with other third parties, including but not limited to other organizations that provide similar or complimentary services, when you explicitly direct us to do so.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We retain your Personal Information in accordance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements and for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, and to fulfill the business purposes outlined in this Policy.

COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES

We use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and/or other tracking technologies (collectively “Cookies”) on our App. A Cookie is a small text file that our App saves onto your computer or device when you use the App that provides us certain information about your activities. Cookies allow the App to remember your actions and preferences and recognize you or your browser, along with information you provided.

We use these tools to make our App function properly, provide personalized experiences, tailor our interactions with you, improve our marketing efforts, provide us with insights about the usage and effectiveness of our App, and to help us improve our App and Services.

Analytics
We use analytics technologies provided by Mixpanel and similar technologies to collect and process Personal Information about your use of the App. Mixpanel may set Cookies on your browser or device, and then your web browser will automatically send information to them for analytics purposes. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

We offer the following choices with respect to how we use your Personal Information. You may update or correct any Personal Information you have provided us by updating your account https://app.recordlens.com/account or reaching out to us at support@recordlens.com. If you choose to do so, we will make reasonable efforts to make the requested updates promptly. You can opt out of marketing and other promotional email communications you receive from us by following the unsubscribe instructions contained in those email messages. It may take us a few days to process your request. During that processing period, you may receive additional marketing and other promotional emails from us. Please note, opting out of these communications will only apply to marketing and other promotional emails and will not apply to any email or other communications we send to you for non-marketing purposes, including, but not limited to, emails and other communications about your interactions with our App.

SECURITY

Protecting your Personal Information is important to us. We use commercially reasonable safeguards to maintain the security and privacy of Personal Information we collect and use, and we limit access to your Personal Information to those who need it to do their jobs. 

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

We are committed to protecting the privacy of children. Our App is not intended or designed to attract children under age 13. We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose to any third-party personal information from or about children under age 13 without parental or legal guardian consent.

If you are a parent or a legal guardian of someone under the age of 13 and discover that your child has submitted Personal Information to us without your consent, please contact us at support@recordlens.com. We will make reasonable efforts to remove such information from our databases. 

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

This Policy may change at any time. Unless otherwise noted, such changes will be effective as soon as they are posted. We will alert you of such changes by posting about them on our App, sending you an email, or by similar appropriate methods. Please check back periodically to see if our Policy has been updated.
